GODDESS IS ALIVE. MAGIC IS AFOOT.
Sachika and Dwayne would like the community to know that the fact that they have each initiated their respective, and equally passionate, cultural events to occur on the same Saturday, May 31, New Moon evening, does not give rise to a conflict. In fact, quite the opposite is true. In a recent conversation about the matter, they discovered a surprising synchronicity linking the two events. Sachika indicated that the 31st had been chosen for her CD release concert, not only because it will be a New Moon, but also because it was the only date her mother could attend. Dwayne chose the 31st to launch the two week long Temple of the Feathered Serpent art event, not only because it will be a New Moon, but because the timing of that New Moon naturally correlates to the poetic image of " a gathering of eagles" , derived from the ancient Mayan sacred calendar. He realized that for himself, it was an auspicious time to gather together a committed group of "heartists" willing to tackle the challenge of revealing in a contemporary venue, some of what he was discovering in his study of that ancient spiritual artifact. At the time of his conversation with Sachika, Dwayne was aware that the "Temple of Grace" was the only one of twenty hieroglyphic temples remaining to be represented. As fate would have it, "Grace" is Sachika's astrologically-determined temple-of-birth! And much to her glee, the color most associated with that temple is blue, BRILLIANT BLUE, the name of her new CD!
So folks, if you want the most complete cultural experience, you won't want to miss either the "Gathering of Eagles" opening ceremony at the Old Schoolhouse (7 PM sharp), or Sachika's "Brilliant Blue" CD release concert at Manson's Hall (8:30 PM)., Saturday May 31, 2003.
